NORMAL MIDDLE TURBINATE (RIGHT)

Description : The area lateral to the middle turbinate is called the middle meatus. Note the insertion of the middle turbinate (the neck of the middle turbinate) into the lateral nasal wall. A normal middle turbinate curves away from the lateral nasal wall. The raised portion of the lateral nasal wall which curves medially to join the neck of the middle turbinate is the lacrimal ridge.
