ATROPHIC RHINITIS (OZENA)

ATROPHIC RHINITIS (OZENA)

Description : This large Yellowish-green crust was removed from the nasal cavity of the previous patient. These foul smelling crusts result from the associated acquired atrophy of the cilia, which prevents the mucous blanket from being carried normally into the nasopharynx. The stagnant infected mucous gradually dries into the crust.
