OROANTRAL FISTULA (RIGHT)

Description : An oroantral fistula is an epithelial lined tract between the maxillary sinus and the mouth, through the upper alveolus. Oroantral fistula usually occur as a complication of one of the upper teeth that can project into the floor of the maxillary antrum (the canine through to the third molar. These patients complain of a foul smelling and tasting drainage into the mouth through the fistula. The discharge originates in the maxillary sinus which is inevitably infected through the fistula
